Yes, the supposed "Brony" phase is annoying now, but I've taken the time to sit down and watch a few episodes and...I actually like it. For the first time in months, I've found something worthwhile for every Saturday morning. The art style is quite streamlined (and on Flash!), the characters are likeable and well-developed (Even though I find Rainbow Dash to be a bit annoying at times), and the humor is actually quite clever and funny. Even though I'm just on the 4th episode, I'm looking forward to spending some of my free time watching more of these.

Oh, and I'm reading Cucumber Quest on the interwebs now. Look it up. It's like a kiddy book but a bit more mature.
